Boyle, S.E. That’s me. I never thought much of it until electronic accounts started to become more common, and weird all-lowercase versions of our names began popping up. The first time I saw last name, first initial, middle initial on a form, my immediate reaction was, “Wow, that sounds like the name of a language.”

Because I am a nerd.

My entire life has been characterized by these kinds of nerdy noticings.

I’ve tried and failed at blog-writing before, you know. For some reason I just can’t keep a firm hold on the medium. I had a LiveJournal for several years that I updated with sporadic and usually whiny posts, before I finally realized it was just an archive of how young and stupid I was. I attempted a political blog for, oh, about six and a half minutes. Most recently I tried on a food blog for size. I think it has two entries published on it, and there are maybe 3-4 half-written entries on my laptop. Hopefully those will make it online here at some point. I do not particularly consider myself a writer, though just about everyone I know would probably yell at me for that statement. My current income from writing stands at about $40, which hardly pays for a nice meal, let alone qualifying me as a writer. However, I do write. Pages and pages and pages. Most of it is half-decent at least, and at this rate only an insignificant percentage of it has ever seen the light of day. I suffer from failure to launch, or something.

This represents a renewed effort to write a blog, and a personal attempt to stop hiding all my writing and preventing it from doing any good. I make no promises as to the level of effort that will go into this blog, nor to its longevity. I don’t want anyone to feel let down, on the off chance that anybody bothers to read this.

My hope is that this one will work out, but who the hell knows?
